Suburban Funk Machine isn’t just a cover band. It’s a pulsating force of funk-infused energy that electrifies audiences wherever they go. Hailing from the suburbs of Winnipeg, Manitoba, this dynamic group of musicians is on a mission to bring the groove back to the masses. 

Band members Jamie (guitar, vocals, percussion), JJ (guitar, vocals) and Ryan (bass guitar, vocals) were joined by powerhouse vocalist, Deidra (lead vocals) in 2019, just before the start of the pandemic. The band needed a rebrand musically; something to captivate listeners and get them moving to the rhythm. In 2023, they were joined by Derek (drums), bringing together a solid foundation and achieving their final form as a band.

Covering music over the classic rock, pop, funk, dance and rap genres, Suburban Funk Machine delivers a fresh take on a classic sound. Their infectious melodies, tight grooves, fun and funky stage presence, and powerful vocals transport audiences to another dimension, where the only thing that matters is the music. 

Suburban Funk Machine has become a fixture on the local music scene, delivering unforgettable live music performances every time they step onto the stage. In 2023, they performed their first original song, “MR KNOW IT ALL,” for the first time, with plans to create more original music over the next year. 

Suburban Funk Machine was nominated and took home the award for Cover Band of the Year at the 2024 Manitoba Loud Music Awards. 

As they continue to spread their funky gospel to the masses, Suburban Funk Machine shows no signs of slowing down. With new music on the horizon and an unwavering dedication to their craft, this suburban sensation is poised to conquer the world, one groove at a time.
